Why not go for a Hardy Altex No3, that would be a lovely period traditional Hardy set up, and more than capable carp outfit, a good user no3 can be found for £100-150 :Hat:

Not quite as old but the ABU 66 or 77 are a very happy match, good clutch and spool capacity.

My fixed spool choice is the same as Dave's.

Or a centrepin - Aerial Popular 4in - when stalking.

A good choice would be a centre pin….a Hardy Conquest or similar. I have used a Hardy Spinning rod for stalking carp and found them to be better than the Mark IV’s which seem to me to have too soft an action.
Mike.
