Chris and hen harriers.

Post by Snape »

It has been mentioned elsewhere that Chris has stopped fishing for now and turned his attention to birds, in particular hen harriers. Here is a lovely radio broadcast by him about this passion.

I was the opposite in one way!

Birdwatching next to rivers/lakes/etc. became fishing those waters!

I can see the progression. But typical in many ways he has opted for a single species. Bird watching as fishing is an open book for me at least. I will certainly look forward to any writing that may issue from his experiences.
No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

I can see were Chris is off to.
He has caught plenty of good fish over the years, more so than most of us.
He says he apologises for disturbing there peace in the name of sport fishing.
He know enjoys the other side of the pond.
I find myself now thinking about killing worms (they are amazing) Maggots... what a great job they do and they are bred in there trillions to be liquidised or thrown in a lake, river or pool, stuck on hooks.... what for.... our fun.
Controversial?
What ever way we look at it... it needs to rest easy on our own Conscience as Jack Hargreaves said.
Never will it be an easy topic... bit touchy..
Perhaps Bread and cheese is the way forward.....

Mr B
The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

Has he sold his tackle yet!
