F.T. Williams Forcarp Refurb.
Just completed a refurb on my recently acquired "Forcarp" which is FT William's take on the fabled MKIV carp rod
The tip had lost about 8" from the top so I asked Crucian to make me a new top section. He has done a fabulous job and I would unhesitatingly recommend his services should you need a section or sections making.
I've totally changed the aesthetics of the rod from standard. I've kept to a very simple whipping style with no inters and re-profiled the front end of the handle. I've left the whippings slightly grainy as they would have been when new and reduced the glossy finish a tad.
I'm looking forward to a bit of carp fishing this season, not targeted carp before so thought I'd find out what all the fuss is about

Always fancied a Forcarp and a Foravon to use - will be nice to see them at work!

Yes, I'll be on the lookout for a Foravon Olly, FT Williams used superb quality cane but I think they didnt have the following of some of the other MKIV makers. Their whipping style and brightly coloured handle furniture didn't do them any favours in my opinion....

Lovely job
There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.

Lovely job Jeremy.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
