Quick 80's beer comparator.
When I still drank lager(wash out mouth with soap) i stopped drinking Lowenbrau in my local because it went up to 84p a pint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We changed to Skol which was about 76/78p. A pint of standard lager is now over £3 in most pubs.
