Just looking out some old photos, Ade Bristow of the Grayling Society when we had a trip to the Avon and stayed at the old Bat and Ball!

Certainly was a couple of years ago but no longer with accommodation. Some great roach water at Shallows Farm back in the nineties.

I did fish the Bat & Ball stretch a couple of times without success! My favourite was the Bull at Downton, I returned a few years ago after probably fifty years, I wish I hadn't! :surrender:

Still there - in 'Bremmer' - Breamore! On the right bank of the Avon.

I drive past, turn left to Woodgreen (on the left bank of the Avon), and frequent the Horse and Groom. Then fish Hale for the rest of the day!

I was a member of the Hale Park syndicate for a few years too!

Just one part of the Avon I fish, especially in the Coarse Close Season for salmon.
