Mascall cheekily named himself as having introduced to England in his own book written under a nom de plume. But carp were supposed to have been introduced by monks much earlier than that. So what happened to to the monastery carp after the Dissolution?

Also, if Walton copied Mascall who himself copied Berners who is thought to have copied a French work, then are those comments by Walton actually relevant to England?
