Fred J Taylor Roach Rod
Re: Fred J Taylor Roach Rod
Very confused with what I read about this rod, perhaps someone can enlighten me :-
a) Was it originally intended for trotting for Roach.
b) What is the recommended line breaking strain.
c) If used for ledgering what would be maximum casting weight.
Thanks.

Re: Fred J Taylor Roach Rod
Yes suposidly a roach rod but quite capable of taming barbel and tench in standard form. Two of mine are rebuilt with Avon tops and rung for bottom fishing with feeders and leads up to 2oz with 10lb line. My original only use line to 6lb and have had tench to over 8lb on it. River chub to near 6lb but it's still nice to trot an Avon float for roach of any size. Bit of an all rounder really with just larger barbel and carp being not targeted with it.

Re: Fred J Taylor Roach Rod
I do wonder if it will finally sell this time around and if it will make more than the £1,300 or so bid in the past.

At least your bid was accepted ... I read Beresfords post before bidding ... but for some reason my bid of £13.00 wasn't even accepted !!! :think:greentura wrote:I've been out bid

Well this is now the fourth attempt to sell it… somehow I just get the feeling that it won't sell again!
