Pictures please
Good evening all , I recently purchased a rod of evil bay which I thought was a Marco Medway , the rod was sold with no guides attached and I got it for the handsome sum of £10 + postage , the rod has all the looks of a medway is much beefier , the ferrules are most certainly Marco and are stamped with no 24 on both male and female , I can still see where the old whippings were and the whippings just above the handle again point to a Marco , the aluminium furniture also points to it being a Marco , i dont currently have a test in my collection so have nothing to compare this rod with but I think it maybe a test , would anybody be able to give me the length of the handle on a 12 ft test please and also a photo of the male ferrule on the middle section , thankyou

Re: Pictures please
The handle on mine is 23 1/4 inches end of the button to the front of the winding check. The cork section is 20 1/4 if that helps

Hi Richard,
I have also just purchased what I hope is a 12" Test from the Bay. Here is a link with pictures: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marco-vintag ... 663.l10137
When it arrives I will be happy to take further measurements / photographs.
All the best,
Nick

Re: Pictures please
Hi Richard,
The rod has arrived and appears in good original condition. All the whippings are in red/gold jasper. This could of course be red/white under dark varnish. The varnish is not the best but could be original.
Let me know what measurements/pictures you need, and I will post accordingly. Just getting ready for nightshift, so will post again tomorrow.
All the best,
Nick.

Re: Pictures please
Hi Richard. Sorry for delay.
There are no serial Nos just the number 7 on the ferrules and counters.
The butt guide agate is 5mm internal diameter. There are 3 intermediate guides on the mid section and 4 intermediates on the tip. The tip guide agate is 3.5mm internal diameter.
The handle is 23 1/2" from the button to the edge of the tapered line check. Hope this helps.
All the best,
Nick

Re: Pictures please
Mine doesn’t sound like a “Test” it is certainly a marco but I am unsure which one, this was bought with no guides or whippings or reel bands but the fittings/furniture that remained scream Marco , it has the same furniture as my “Medway “ which was in original condition when bought but this rod is a lot beefier ,these are pictures of the furniture that were on said rod
The old whippings are also in the same position as a Medway and all ferrules are stamped the same as a marco
