Both joints glued up and cleaned up ready to fit ferrules.

Luckily, I had a ferrule of the correct size for the butt, but had to make a matching one for the tip.

Finish turned and just the splints to cut with a razor saw before fitting.

It doesn’t come across as ‘look what I’ve done’ in the slightest. I’ve been following this with great interest as I do with most of these tackle-making threads and I’m astounded by the talent you and others who do this kind of thing possess. I’d love to make a rod of my own, even a float would be nice, but being all fingers and thumbs when it comes to practical stuff, there’s no chance of that ever happening. That makes it all the more fascinating to observe people who can do it, doing it.Crucian wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2018 5:56 pm Thanks chaps, I didn't want it to come across as "Look what I've done"
I would encourage all of you to have a go at making your own rod from scratch, it's very satisfying.
If I can help in any way, please ask. It's not an easy process to begin with, but it's really not that difficult either.
