Welcome, Steve, to the best forum of all. Where did you fish as a youngster, and where are you fishing now? Most of us here are very proud of our mountains of old tackle and shelves of favourite fishing books. Best of all, there is a certain panache to landing a nice fish on a much loved (and extensively restored) rod and reel that modern tackle doesn't provide, and a great camaraderie amongst fellow traditionalists. We look forward to your posts.

Hi Mitch,

There was only one lake in walking distance when I was young. Now I'm in an area that is pretty rich in Lakes, Rivers and Canals. Im certainly looking forward to feeling that certain panache.

I'm on the Newport Pagnell stretch of the Ouse. I would hazard a guess that you are a MKAA member?

Yes I am and Newport Pagnel, though haven't fished there for a good while.
Fished it quite a lot late 80s early 90s.
