Welcome, Steve, to the best forum of all. Where did you fish as a youngster, and where are you fishing now? Most of us here are very proud of our mountains of old tackle and shelves of favourite fishing books. Best of all, there is a certain panache to landing a nice fish on a much loved (and extensively restored) rod and reel that modern tackle doesn't provide, and a great camaraderie amongst fellow traditionalists. There was only one lake in walking distance when I was young. Now I'm in an area that is pretty rich in Lakes, Rivers and Canals. Im certainly looking forward to feeling that certain panache.
