I've got a 9ft 6in Sharpe Scottie cane rod that I bought as part of a job lot thirty years ago. I wondered if anyone could please tell me a little more about the rod? Also I don't pike fish at the moment and its not quite built for quiver tipping for roach, so what could I use it for? Our runner beans are well catered for thank you very much......
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

I use mine for big barbel and sometimes carp. I love it!

a good stalking rod for carp or spinning for salmon, I have a 10' sharpes spinning rod with the screw reel seat, for some reason I have not seen many of these but lots of the 9' 6' models

Just one question about your rod. Mine has lined rings throughout, does yours?

Re: J S Sharpe
Hi Guys - well that is all very positive. Only problem is that I left the rod in the front room after the first post I made on Sunday and Shazza (my wife) has strung it up on the dining room wall. I'll do a picture tomorrow - something I've not yet mastered. I've also got Dick Walkers handwritten letter that he sent after I moved to Hereford in '78 to photo and post.
Lost a big perch on the Wye tonight - my fault entirely. Very sad face ....
