Now that is a setup that cannot be bought, a superb job Evert, the reel is one of a kind and I doubt anybody with the exception of another poster on here ( wonder who ? ) could replicate.

Impressive job so far :clap:

I am interested in the choice of wood for making a reel - do you need to select a particular cut such as quarter sawn timber to prevent warping in the future? Are there some woods which are a better choice than others?
