Rare Hardy rod fully restored
Just finished restoring this rare one.
Hardy FWK Wallis "Perfect" No1 Nottingham rod
Serial No C7819 dates to 1920
10ft in three pieces, while bamboo butt and middle, "Palakona" split-bamboo top.
Universal reel fittings, and lovely wooden button.
I managed to locate a set of nickel silver special upright rings, clear agate butt & tip ring as would have been on the original rod (the last 2 photos, show these rings), it is varnished in Mylands No8 semi gloss which gives it a nice flat finish.
This is the oldest rod in my collection.

The rings look like a 'squashed ' type of snake fly rod ring, and the rod looks great, let us know how it performs on the bank.
Tight lines

I hope to look that good at nearly 100 years old (too late already )
