Short river session .... And I done it

Post by Tench Dreamer »

Two hours to spare so I grabbed rod , net , bits ..maggots and had two and half hours checking out three great swims . As they say jungle fishing on the move .... And done it....... First Roding fish . Chublets /dace and perch . Pristine condition . The atmosphere and conditions were sublime.pure natural fishing . Trotting a tiny float, 8 ft rod ... All less than 9 miles from Hackney London E8 :huray:

Excellent TD.. :secret: I love small rivers as they are full of surprise and intrigue. Maybe even the odd Esox in there...

Well done! I use to live in E8 and once fished in Victoria Park and caught a tiddler that to this day I have not got a clue what species it was; possibly something from someones fish tank.

Well done TD. :Hat:

I fished there in the eighties, only the once. I sometimes walked along the canal as well but it looked dead so never bothered fishing it; years later I heard stories of it being well stocked with carp. Oh well; being twenty something I had better things to do in London than go fishing, apart from a few sea fishing trips on boats around blackwater.

Well done TD, fish in the plural too! My two sessions this season have resulted in just the one tiddler but kingfishers, woodpeckers and of course the egrets make recompense. Funny how this little river has generated more posts than any other including Thames, Severn, Trent, Avon etc!
