I think I've mentioned once before, how I saw a huge chub in the Wear once, when looking down off the modern road bridge. I still think that fish was getting on for 8lbs..

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Dang. I really mustn't type so fast, but now you mention it I live in fear of hooking a thirty pound carp. I think my trousers would be in danger if I had an 8lb + chub at the net....Loop Erimder wrote:You girl I wouldn't mind hooking one, too big for ya is itPrince of Durham wrote:Wow. My largest chub from the Wear was 5lb 13oz and fell to bread flake on the wides close to a falling willows below the mouth of the Browney. It's a very good chub river.Gary Bills wrote:I'm not surprised, OllyOlly wrote:Had a 6lb12oz out of the Wear - same day as 5lb10oz & a 4lb12. I believe it has done 7s.
