My first source of info is either my old season ticket books or the shop stamps on my old rod licences, unfortunately they begin in 1969 and I cannot remember that shop, sadly not many relatives left who would have known. Leave it with me I might be gone for a while lol.

I can remember visiting all of those tackle shops over the years, I think The Angling Man is the only one still trading.

Even The Angling Man has gone as Stu Killen packed in about this time last year.

I can add to the list, I don't recall going in the Angling Man, but visited all the others.
Midland Corn Co. 57 King Richards Road
Blaby Pet Shop, 8 Leicester Road, Blaby(they also had a shop in Oadby)
Downtons, 110 Humberstone Road
The Aquaria, West Bridge(this one had access onto the tow path on the "Straits", sold bait on Sunday mornings)
WH Pratt, 52 Narborough Road.
I went in all of these, listed in my 10/- 1969 Leices Angling Society members ticket. I also remember a shop in Mountsorrel and there was another shop in Wigston back then, later shops appeared in South Wigston and also the recently closed Oadby Angling shop too.

Bennett's Tackle shop in Mountsorrel is still there and two years ago was bought by new owner Stuart Timson, it is it still called Bennett's. This is the tackle shop I use.

That's it, wasn't it run by the Culleys at one time? I used to fish Switherland Res back in the 80's, they often used to fish there after a record Rudd.

I not sure of the names but I will ask the next time I am in there.
