In search for the finest British Tackle shop!

Do you know of a good traditional fishing tackle shop, past and present.

I was a tackle shop manager for 2-3 years - nightmare!

I have been in the Creel once - superbly old-fashioned!

Couldn't recommend a single one as a 'great tackle shop' - they seem to have all gone around my way! Most are like a supermarket!

Internet every time.
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

Are you thinking of Sweets St.John?

I'll second The Creel in Aldershot, Tinca. :Thumb:

There's [or there was until very recently] a good second hand tackle shop at nearby Ash Wharf.
