As ever wm+, wonderful work. When this thread was first started I thought, "excellent, I'll make one of those. I'd like a small lathe for float making." That lasted all of 5 minutes :Happy:

Stunning work WM+, it is coming together beautifully. Making something that is not only functional but can beautiful in all of it's details is the hallmark of a true craftsman and artisan, my hat's off to you sir :Hat:

I am in the process of making a micro lathe,here's a tip for speed control using a 250v sewing machine motor with foot control1st bin the foot control re use the electric lead connect it to a houshold dimmer switch and you have variable speed 0 x max speed of motor, for the chuck dismantle an old dremmel remove the chuck including the shaft it screws onto drill the back end of the threaded shaft so it is dia of motor shaft snug fit glue shaft and slide the piece onto the shaft it will be centered.Hope that is clear enough to follow? .
