Fishing seat boxes

Post by Trotter »

Good morning gentlemen,

a few days ago, I purchased two fishing seat boxes (I hope this is the right name for it). The one with the three wooden boxes was in a very good condition, I suppose the former owner didin't take it very often to the water.

The second one with two wooden boxes was in a more mouldy state.

When I removed the bullen nails of the cushion, nearly anything was full of black mould. So I just dumped the whole top section.

With a new cover plate, I bought in the DIY Store, I started to renew the padding with some brick-red synthetic leather.

Because the result was better than I'd ever thought, I made the second fishing box seat as well.

Here is the result, I hope you'll enjoy it as well:

They do look nice, well done.

Last week I had a very close look at your boxes. You really did a fantastic job there, Andi! They're very comfortable to sit on and everything can be stored neat and tidy. :Hat:

I happily accept your application for the job as my ghillie. As I'm a very generous employer, you'll be allowed to carry your own seatbox as well. Once in a while you might even bring your own rod! :tea:

Takes me back .... I had one of those boxes fitted with an octoplus leg system... a sweet little box with 2 cross drawers... quite light too compared to today's monstrosities... The latest Preston's box probably weights twice as much and costs £2,300.... yup you read that price correctly...

Very nice Sir.... :Hat:
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

No problem, Martin. I accept this job offer. But because of my experience, I am not sure if you can afford my wages. I'll accept one of your cane rods per day :tea:

:tea: Quite greedy the lad, isn't he!

I consider my company and the privilege to carry my tackle to be more than he should ask for ...
