Homemade Catapult help
Hello all.
Ive a nice seasoned piece of Blackthorn that ive fashioned into a V shape.
My dilemma is , How do a attach the elastic without weakening ths two prongs of the V.
Ideally id like to have the elastic coming from the top , butany suggestion is welcome
Thanks
BSC

Re: Homemade Catapult help
My modern (made from plywood) steel pellet slingshot has the elastic bands over the top, then doubled and taped by thinner elastic bands in 90° angle. If that doesn't come off it shouldn't with yours, too.

Hello Bend Some Cabe: may I suggest an older post ? Try Another DIY Project - Kitchen Utensils Continued ? in Making Other Tackle ? A thread around 2014 ? I drilled the tops and inserted metal studs glued and screwed and used a "D" link in brass with two brass end caps - the elastic therefore on the top and doubled over and whipped. A " Collapsa-Pult"; fires bait "miles"

Re: Homemade Catapult help
Well the answer is yes I am actually still really happy with it - even if it was a bit of a "fun piece" when made but it still fires out bait and gets abused in the tackle bag and thrown in the car or the garage so....it makes me smile and is functional too if a little over stylised really but.....its a working catapult !
