Does anyone know if there is a Company or Specialist still making these, I've a couple of Chris lythe reels that I use regularly and quite fancy a matching pair of leather block cases to transport them in / store them in when not being used.
Any pointers gratefully received.

Try looking for 'Salmon Fly Reel' cases. These are sometimes large enough,

As a cheaper alternative you could look out for old collar boxes that they used in the earlier half of the 20th century

You can get cheaper ones via eBay which I think are made in China but with a vaguely English sounding brand name. There is a company in the UK making them, I think they are called the Worcestershire Leather company or something similar.
Hardy still make them and Salmon reel sizes should fit.

Gents, thank you for coming back to me, I have dropped Edward Barber an email just to see if he does indeed make them (or point me in the right direction). I've researched the collar boxes too and they do look quite good, I'll be keeping an eye out on flea bay just in case.
I'll also be dropping Hardy a line....just to see .
Thanks all for the most helpful pointers.

Re: Leather reel block cases for centrepins
An update,
The gentleman that used to produce reel cases for Edward Barder sadly is no longer with us.
Mr Hardy (yes,,an actual Mr Hardy) called me back and took some details and said he will get back to me.
But in the meantime I stumbled across Towcester Leather Co. who make reel cases and I purchased one to see what they were like. It arrived quickly and I was suitably impressed, great quality, nicely padded with deep sheepskin lining and lovely thick leather which looks like it will last forever (It'll certainly see me out). The chap, Peter was very helpful and I've since ordered another one for one of my other Lythe reels. I'd certainly recommend them.

That case looks lovely, well found.
I suspect the Towcester Leather Co might be getting a few more orders now you've shared that!

I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

For those on a budget these may be worthy of consideration:-

The coiled line travels from the reel, it brings up at last, the hook goes home, and then begins the test of skill. "BB"
