Top tip for collecting worms

get a washing up bowl full of luke warm water and a hefty squirt of washing up liquid mix it all up gently so not too many bubbles.........

throw the lot on your grass at any time of day and watch the worms shoot out of the ground........

collect what you need, rinse well and store as normal

I wouldn't use washing up liquid, it can pollute the soil and prevent worms returning for sometime. Do the same but mix hot chilli sauce into the water at a ratio of about 500 to 1.

If space allows, build a compost heap, free wormz all year round.

A worm farm sounds like a very good idea. A ready supply of wriggly bait.

Worm farms sound great but a notoriously difficult to keep alive, you have to make sure it's not too acidic, wet, dense the list goes on. That said if you can manage it they are a good source of worms obviously. I had one going for about 6 months then it just 'got sick' and they all died.
