Yep, that's what I use. 3 or 4 discs punched then lightly compressed against a thumb are perfect. plenty of different sizes available to.

Just what I am after and prodded my memory back to reading Jeff Hatt's blog a while ago. I am looking for some Cheap and effective baits, for a gravel pit I am fishing for Tench, at the moment. Going to have to make some large bread punches.
