The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

Definitely and still I remind anglers of his quote which has never been so apt as it is now...

"I am a Brother of the Angle, and therefore an enemy to the otter".

Izaak Walton - The Compleat Angler (1653).

I will share a few moments this evening, reading by candlelight as I prefer.

Really surprised that this thread didn't receive more posts.

One of the very first TFF days out was to visit the tome of Izaak in Winchester Cathedral, it was a great day out, here are a few pictures. We went on to fish the River Itchen after.

Excellent, I must make the effort one day for it is somewhere I have not visited and really feel I should.

Another one for the bucket list before I kick mine.

Excellent! Whilst fishing on Sunday my son said to me, whilst I was clunking about, "one must study to be quiet Dad" and silly me didn't realise he was quoting good old Isaak.
"....he felt the gentle touch on the line and he was happy"
