Golden Wonders

Post by J.T »

OK I will get the ball rolling.

I love Crucian Carp, My second favourite of the smaller fish species.

The below were caught at Bury Hill's Milton lake which is well known for Crucian Carp I believe.
That's the F T Williams "The Dorset" rod by the way. :)

Splendid Jeff!!!

I have joined a local club that controls the fishing on another base close to where I work. I have been informed that the moat, never fished, hold some very good crucians, so, as soon as spring comes round next I shall be trying for these timid, shy biters and see if I can get that magical 2lber on the bank, something that has eluded me so long.

Could be difficult mate, as it's on a naval base you'll need to be security cleared, and thats why it is hardly fished. I spent a couple of evenings there this year and caught nice low double mirror Carp and some Bream, but in all the times I've fished or walked around, I've only ever seen three or four people fishing, in two years!!!

Well I am the Sergeant.

Sounds like a nice place, almost untouched by the hand of Anglers. :D

Wish I could find somewhere like that.
