This Season's Target

Post by The Sweetcorn Kid »

I'll be back on the moat, but instead of seeking carp I'll be targetting the crucians that live there. I've heard through the grapevine that there are some quite good ones, but after seeing this photo I can't wait to get going. It is by a chap who fishes the moat and has started fishing with his daughter, something I hope to emulate over the next few years. He kindly gave me permission to share this photo with you guys.

Isn't it just the most delightful photo you've seen? It epitomises everything that is great and pure about our beloved sport!!

Need to get that rod and reel sorted
Great photo
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Great picture SK. You're not the only one targeting Crucians this season and having aquired a lovely Aspindales Suredale from Nobby I think I've got the perfect tool for it.
Good luck with your quest.

Bloomin eck, she's bagged a better one than I have. Beautiful looking fish. I too hope to take my daughter fishing soon, however she'll almost certainly 'talk' the fish into the net.

Well those crucians seem to be like buses, finally one comes along then they act like buses....

This afternoon I caught 5 in total, all over 1lb 8oz, including this monster.

....a new PB!!!!
