Chubby Antics

Post by Moley »

The Mole, for it is he, has been a busy boy after Tench and Rudd with some minor success but decided it would be nice to see some moving water and thus ended up on the river Wey on an old haunt, last fished by Fatty in 1997.

Matron :Scared: has more or less given up trying to thwart Herr Bartlett Mole and his Great Escapes, so long as his chores are completed to Waffen Standards mind. If not the consequences are to horrid to contemplate.........

Anyway Fatty took plenty of slurping tea and scoffed two self made pies on the journey to the river, mainly because he was hungry but also to prevent the Ancient Mariner eating all his provisions when they meet.

Fatty was armed with a newish Harvey Torbut copy once owned by the genius that is Ashby Cut. The bait was bread'n pellet to a six inch hooklink with traditional drilled bullet for rolling the stream.

It all worked like a charm as the fish were unsuspecting of the cunning Mole......

Six pounds exactly of confused Chevin.

Five pounds eight ounces Chevin.

This mighty catch, in between slurping tea and scoffing Chocolate Digestives, was supplemented by a large Brown Trout, a Bream of decent size, a nice dace and true to form, a splendid Minnow. :Hat:

The Mariner was still on a blank and would not accept Fatty's offer of the going swim but perked up over the biscuits and tea, also offered. :Hahaha:

Still not fully sunk in about this catch, though the Beast of Bolsover was totally unimpressed by such antics; equally so by the dishevelled appearance of Fat Mole, coated in fish slime, tea stains, pie crumbs and melted chocolate from the biccies.

Woman generally just don't get it do they?

As ever,........

What? Only a brace of six-pounders and a little one at 5:08? I expected at least a couple of 10-pounders :Hahaha:

Seriously though Moley, heartiest congratulations on what would be for me, the chub catch of a lifetime.

superb Mr mole sir, I recognise that particular little piece of heaven :eyebrow: There a few lunatic carp in residence along with the odd barbel, last time I fished there I was troubled by crayfish sadly. :club:
