Size doesn't matter.

Post by Fredline »

With the current fascination for biggest, personal bests, selfies with large fish how about this little beauty. It weighed 12oz and was scale perfect. I had 8 others all around the same size along with a "daffy" of goer roach up to 1lb 7 oz all on an unmarked 2 piece cane rod and a Mitchell 440A loaded with 3lb line. Heaven.

Splendid, Sir.

I can see what you mean and will be glad to try my luck with you in the next few weeks, I have not had any joy in my local lake!

Look at that paddle tail fin, even in a juvenile fish it's impressive. We had a fish called Henry of similar proportions in our garden pond for years, however being tench he was rarely seen. For all I know (mothers pond) he may still be there.

Lovely little fish. Last night I caught a 15lb river tench. Well I almost caught it before it slipped the hook in front of my landing net. But it was definitely bang on 15lb. I could tell by the scales on it's back!
