Anyone given some further thought to forming a Rudd Group as interest in this species needs to be maintained, mainly to preserve waters with specimens and not the stunted fish filled ponds.

Another one to keep the interest up:

If the more imaginative of you could come up with a new group name it would be much appreciated!

PM me if you are shy but any thoughts would be much appreciated.

you know i think i was a teenager when i last caught a Rudd over a pound it was from the leg of mutton in Bushey Park, to catch a big rudd would be fantastic especially in this day and age where they seem to be as rare as hens teeth

I caught my first rudd from the Wye last week. It was a 'four'. Four inches that is. But the colour of the fins and scales - breathtaking.....
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

I have not caught a lot of Rudd for years. There don't seem to be many around my area apart from a few very small ones. I have not caught a large Rudd for a very, very long time. Next year I am going to search out some waters with them in. There used to be a few lakes over South Cerney with Rudd in, but the Cormorants I think have done a lot of damage to the stocks.

Had a few small ones from the Exeter Canal last April. These were Golden Rudd and the Silver type.
