Roachiness

Post by Moley »

This Mole, oh god not 'im again, inbetween bouts of Gonk bashing has been a busy boy with some nice Stillwater roach all caught on the waggler:

Image

2lb 3oz of sheer beauty.

Image

2lb 2oz despite the Leg-End Clive trying to make it look smaller.

Image

1lb 12oz.....apologies for the metric measure but was shaking too much to notice.

Image

1lb 10oz and in prime condition.

A pleasing number of smaller beauties came to see the Mole up to 1lb 8oz or so. However once the water temperature reached 10 degrees C it was decided to leave them to get on with their once yearly..... :Hat:

Hope you like the pictures?

As ever,.......

Very nice. Are we seeing a reassurance in roach Nationwide?
Here in Norfolk I think we are , in booth rivers and still waters.

Lovely Roach, the camera might lie, but the tape measure doesn't!

The good news as far as the fishing is concerned is that the roach finished their once yearly :Hat: last week.

With that in mind the Fat Mole decided to leave them for a few days then have another shot at them........

The result was two Pork Pies consumed, two flasks of cold drinks slurped, and so many roach that after thirty it got confusing. :Thumb:

The fish were all caught on the waggler, with a slow drop presentation, well over depth. This is a style the Fatty has been messing about with.....it seems to work.

The biggest weighed made 1lb 8oz, with the rest from 8oz upwards.

Apologies for the lack of photographic evidence but it was that hot the camera packed up and to be fair it was felt best to get the roach back asap, none the worse for our meeting. Plus Sulky Pants AKA Clive the 1970's Carp Leg-End would not let the Mole near his camera........can't think why?

The Mole could be accused of making too much hay whilst the sun shines , so to speak but experience has taught him, the hard way, that to hold back from roach fishing this good is an error of judgement, simply because it does not last. Too often in the past Fatty has restrained himself from fishing hard for big roach, having done all the hard work of locating them, only for others to plunder his efforts. :secret:

Already word is starting to reach the ears of the roach circus, who no doubt will not hold back.........

The roach portraits in the comics in the next few months, from a secret southern location, will reflect this. Although some of the weights claimed may be a little over generous :eyebrow:

Also on an even more worrying level the Black Plague, four of them, were sighted yesterday so the writing is already on the wall....sadly!

The truth is out there......
