Redmire's records

Post by Loop Erimder »

I've seen on tinterweb on a couple of sites that Bob Richards record was 31lb 8oz
I thought it was 31lb 4oz.....Please could I get confirmation it is in fact 31lb 4oz.....

Obviously Richard Walker's 44lb and Chris Yates 51lb 8oz
I need to be sure Bob Richards is 31lb 4oz......

Oct 1951 R.D. Richards Mirror 31lb 4oz on honey past from the Willow Pitch.
July 1956 R.D. Richards Leather 31lb 8oz (Foul Hooked just below throat).
This is taken from the book Redmire Pool by Kevin Clifford & Len Arbery. Reprint 1985.
hope this helps
Fish come and go, but it is the memory of afternoons on the stream that endure

There's a cased carp, which I think Chris Bill or Chris Sanford has written about. It was caught before the Richards fish from an undisclosed Herefordshire lake. I'd put money on that lake being Redmire and that fish being the first Redmire record, since I think it was either the second or the biggest carp caught at that time. Worth digging around to find the info.

Get hold of a copy of Redmire Pool by Kevin Clifford - it'll have everything in it.
