It took me until a couple of weeks ago the drag the book away from my son. I started it yesterday and have just finished it. It is a wonderful read. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's the best fishing book I've read since Tom's Book - nuff said.

Thanks, I’ll pass that on to Rob, he’ll be really pleased because he is such a harsh critic of himself.

We need to encourage him to get his diary published facsimile - it is amazing - handwritten and full of watercolours! I’ll see if I have an extract here somewhere to share.

Following recommendations on here I bought 'Waterlust' and thoroughly enjoyed it. No only a good read the book is beautifully presented.
I then followed up with Tom's Book which is also excellent.

Toms Book is a classic - the copy I have has some really very lovely illustrated cards in a folder - super book.
Owing to the rather sizeable number of books to read - Waterlust is a must read but a little later on in the year.

After hearing Phil talk of Rob as a friend, I was pleased to hear he was also an author... I have read the two books out of order... Finishing Waterlust first...

Let me say that Rob's writing is superb, exciting, humorous, poignant, descriptive and rather brilliant... So much so that I bought "Tom's Book" and I absolutely loved it... It is going to be one of the books that will be reread at various intervals,

It's an absolute cracker... :Hat:
