I buy a roll of book protector film and cut it to suit. There's quite a few suitable products on the market. I'm usually protecting just the dust cover and I find a soft plastic best. I also have some stiffer clear plastic which is good but harder to fit.

I would advise not to buy the self-adhesive clear film. Although I have only used it once to cover a book, "Freshwater Angling by Faddist", I found it an absolute nightmare to handle once the backing paper is removed. As Phil has said the non-adhesive clear film is so much better.

I really like these book wallets and have used them for years. Most of my books are covered in them now and they protect not just the dust cover but the book itself from shelf wear. Ignore the fact that these are marketed for paperbacks they work just as well on hardbacks. If you PM me your address and the height of an example book I will see if I have the size and send one for you to try.

Thanks to Tengisgol for sending me a nice protective jacket for my book, typical of the kindness of the members of this forum. :Hat: Image
