It's a good read Mark,as well as having such a bright cheerful cover, a good coffee table book !

Thanks Mark for the recommendation of this book, I managed to get myself a lovely copy for £3.10 delivered from ABE Books.

One of the first things I've noticed in the book and BV is quite right:-

"It would probably be hard to convince young anglers of today that they could be wholly fulfilled and happy in their fishing without all the technological wonders of tackle that nowadays are assumed to be essential".

With that quote he's hit the nail right on the head.

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

It is a lovely book..... I Must re-read it !!!!

It isn't one I have in my collection so have just gambled £1.50 on Amazon for a hardback copy for a fresh read.

Great looking book - it's the sort that you very, very rarely come across hunting through the bookshops of Hay on Wye. But when you do.....
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......
