Angling Ways - Eric Marshall- Hardy
I am just reading Angling Ways. What a great book ! Just proves there is not much new in fishing ! Most of the so called modern tactics are in here from the 1940s and 1950s. Anyone else enjoyed this book or maybe has other views on it ?

Same here, my first fishing book which is minus the dust jacket (I threw it away) and very grubby. I studied it for many hours :-)

The chapters on flyfishing for "coarse fish" are excellent .

Angling Ways by Marshall-Hardy
I picked up a copy of Angling Ways from our local book stall. Its an absolute cracker of a book!
If you want a book that goes into details on lots of the older methods and techniques then this is it. I do find it sad that most magasines now only focus on a handful of modern specimen techniques.
If you are a roach angler then this book covers the Sheffield style, Notthingham style, hemp, silk weed and probably dedicated over 100 pages just to this one species.

That's easy to answer Jeremy, take one Daily Express, a tin of maggots and a cunning plan........Jeremy Croxall wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2017 6:23 pmThat's not fair to those of us who do not have the book! you're just teasing us!!
