No fishing here either, this was the river at opening day:

Thanks Martin, I‘d love to visit Bamberg again. Keesmann was a favorite...
Not sure if I can make it. We‘ll see. Best, Chris

This will be a cult magazine and the early editions much sought after. I'm not going to repeat the mistake of throwing away my collection of Waterlog.

It's blowing a gale here and threatening heavy rain, first trip of the new season cancelled :Hair out:
Nigel, I think I will subscribe. I have canceled my Fallons Angler subscription a time ago because I found it to be increasingly boring. Waterlog was fantastic. I was looking for a good periodical. Most are American which is so hard if you see all the pictures of Montana or Maine but cannot fish there. So this one may be the answer. Again thanks for showing us this publication.
I hope the good weather will be there soon for you to enjoy the start of the season.
Best, Bobby

The postman finally delivered Fly Culture magazine this morning. I think he was becoming concerned that for the last 5 days I was waiting for him at the front door in my dressing gown :Chuckle:

Some excellent reading for the next few days.

Wow, fantastic, Nigel. I will purchase the magazine solely to read your article.

Incidentally, speaking of Elgar's Cello Concerto. I hope you are listening to the Natalie Clein version. in my honest opinion it is the definitive version and beats both the Lloyd-Webber and du Pre versions into a cocked hat! ;)

I wish I had a recording of Mstislav Rostropovich. I have to get it somehow. You can listen on youtube:

Luga00,

I listen to the Lloyd-Webber version in the car, not ideal. I will get the version you mention.

Bobby,

Thank you for the link :-)

I will order the magazine as well.

Did you know that Elgar loved the Bavarian Alps and regularly spent his holidays there.
Op.27 From the Bavarian Highlands are 6 pieces for choir. They are a fun to perform!
