Beneath the Black Water - The Search for an Ancient Fish.
Credit where credit is due, I thought this was an excellent read. I very much related to several parts along the way and my only regret is that I only purchased an ex library book copy.

A very open and emotional account of an almost or probably obsessive journey Shaun I too enjoyed it immensely. Well written with pace and balance I struggled to put it down at times. It brought out some home truths in my own life!

It is a wonderful book and highly recommended. Jon and I used to fish together as teenagers and I was surprised when reading it that I managed to get a mention in the chapter Polly.
“Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers,” Herbert Hoover.

A stalwart of many a library's sports section. I didn't expect to enjoy it but did. About time for a re-read. Thanks for a timely reminder.
