Canvas seatbox

Post by Keston »

Good evening
I had a fruitful boot sale today .
Fishing wise I bought an old canvas seatbox , it has rucksack like straps . The seller felt it 1950's . I wasnt sure about it but bought it anyway.
I was wondering if anyone might know if it was mass production or homemade ? Maybe cottage industry ?
Regards
John

It looks military to me, I wonder if it held a radio at some time and has since been fitted with an internal wooden frame.

That's a lovely idea Wal , I'm convinced the wooden frame is a homemade retro fit jobbie . Well done though , you can still see the odd pencil mark for cuts and the lid is nicely done .
I may ask Mr Google to search ex military canvas for me .
Paul no markings at all.
