Traditional, well nearly but with Pedigree !

Post by Mushy »

I am the proud owner of one very special landing net.

Now at first glance you may not think so as there are no traditional cane arms, no bamboo handle but look closely and you will see tradition running through every pary of its design! Its the maker that makes this net so special and as such it has a history of development back to the pioneers of carp angling.

Have a look at the photos and the heritage will be clear:

Yes I have a net made by the very talented Len Arbery :huray: In addition, if that wasn't enough, I had the pleasure of meeting Len and spending time nattering away about various angling matters both old and new. Len was very generous of his time, a true gent.

So I can't wait for the new season and a chance to grace a Barbel or two within the arms of this lovely net. Watch this space !

Gorgeous
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

You beat me to it Mushy. I have now got my Len Arbery net as well, and what a joy it is. I cannot wait to land my first carp in it, when it warms up a bit..
It follows the classic Richard Walker design but utilising the very latest materials. This has resulted in a classic old style landing net that is not too heavy to wield. Dick was always the designer and innovator and I would like to thing that Len has done to the net just what he would have done, if he were still alive.
I expect Len asked you for a picture of your first worthy fish landed in the net too?
