What a talent, superbly finished and very usable. I can imagine your grin when that first fish is landed. I must admit though, that if it were mine, I would keep it for Sunday best, high days and holidays and pride of place in a viewable place in the living room.

That handle is a thing of beauty. Barbulus, yes do use it, I'd want to keep it in the lounge but swmbo would have other ideas. It will be great to see a photo when you christen it. NN, you are a master.

Re: A Traditional Landing Net Handle
What more can be said, except going by the silly prices being paid on fleabay at the moment for cane landing net handles, this one would be the same price as a new Rolls Royce, and worth every penny, I have never seen a piece of cane turned into a work of art like this before, and don't suppose I ever will again, the finish looks like it was French polished to cabinet standards, I must stop drooling every time I go back to the pictures.
An old man, who's only pleasure left in life, is sitting by some water, fiddling with his maggots?

Re: A Traditional Landing Net Handle
That is a work of art
My type keeps showing up in the wrong places; usually clutching a severed head in one hand and a knife in the other…so it's not catch me if you can, it's catch me if you dare.

What a teasing offer! My UK tour is growing bigger and bigger. I'd need weeks meanwhile.
