Vintage 'fast net' repair advice

Post by Lucky Strike »

Hi

I have a lovely old net that I believe to be from the 80's, I think they were called 'fast nets'
but I could be wrong. I find it the perfect collapsable roving river net for barbel and chub but mine needs
repairing. The latch that secures the net when extended is not strong enough and the net recently collapsed
when I lifted a heavy barbel from the water, the mesh could also be replaced.
I have included some detailed pics that show how the mechanism works and how the net is secured with
cable ties

Does anyone have any advice on how I could go about repairing such a net, or have any info on the model?

Regards LS :Hat:

Undo the two bolts snip off the cable ties and the whole net head will slide out allowing the net to be replaced.
Redport make the Fastnet and have a site for spare parts.
