Farlows 92nd edition catalogue

Post by Jardine »

I also have this Farlows catalogue ,the 92nd edition.
it is not dated but since Farlows was founded in 1840 I am assuming it is from 1932.

Hi Nobby,
it looks like it was one of Farlows own make reels, and cost £2-10/ back in the day.
I guess it must be a pretty rare item, I wonder if any TFF members have one?
Best regards

Hmmm....a spinning reel. That'd be interesting to see...I know I couldn't cast a spinning lure with a centrepin, but I suppose someone else can. I've never even heard of it before, let alone seen one.

There's one for sale on a certain website if you want to have a look at the inside.

Thank you gentlemen, you have finally nailed the maker of this pin in my collection. I had also thought it was a funny looking Speedia, possibly home made. Its very light weight and extremely free running with the positioning of the check lever a pure joy.

Thanks again.

The good angler is not the one with expensive equipment. Common sense, observation and trying to realize
what is happening above and below water will catch fish no matter what price equipment you fish with.
