Daiwa 125m

Post by John M »

hi chaps your knowledge appreciated.

I purchased one of these a couple of weeks ago but it only had the one spool. Does anyone know if the 123m spool is compatible? there are a couple of 125m spools on Ebay but they're in Italy and Germany.

I don't know if this helps but Jim's Reel Shop, who I use for ABU506 parts, seems to cover Daiwa closed-face as well. Now, he has the chenille stated as suitable for both reels but only has the Daiwa 125m spool for sale. I've always found Jim very reliable and, if that spool fitted both 125 and 123, I think he would say so on his site.

John, if you can let me have the sizes and possibly a photo of the spool, I'll have a look through my spools box as I may have one of those.

I have this spool John and I am not sure what reel it came with but it may be Daiwa.
It is almost 54mm across the front, 57mm across the back and just under 19mm thick. The bore is 20mm.
It's yours if it's any good to you..

The daiwa 123 and the 120 have a different spool to the 125m

those dimensions all tally with my spool Wally so I believe you have a 125m shallow match spool which I'm happy to buy off you if you no longer use it. If you pm me a price and your address I'll get a postal order out to you.
