The Orvis cfo

Post by Bobby Marlene »

I really like my Orvis cfo reels. In the picture you see a cfo 123 to the right and a cfo 3 to the left. I use the 123 for my #4 lines and the 3 for#5 lines. Loaded with backing and silk lines they weigh only 110/135 grams. If you’re looking for a light weight reel I can really recommend these. The cfo was originally designed by Stan Bogdan. Unfortunately prices are quite high. Bobby ImageImage

Yes they are good reels with a traditional look .
Stood the test of time those bit like the hardy marques just look right on any rod vintage or new.

I wonder what C.F.O stands for?

Lovely reels Bobby.
I've been looking for one at a reasonable price for a long time and finally picked up one, with a spare spool, last week at auction.
Not cheap as you say but these were still a hundred pounds cheaper than a certain dealer was asking on the bay of e.

Fabulous reels. I don't own one – they've always been expensive! Were they made by Hardy for Orvis? Perfect aesthetics for a cane rod and it's nice to see a Gary Marshall rod on the forum. He's done and is doing some more restoration work for me. When I last visited he showed me one of his latest rods and the build and finishing was superb.

Wow, CC, that’s a disc version. Lovely reel you have. I like these because they are so light. You won’t find a lighter quality reel. Bobby

Gary is a master! And a true gentleman. Your rods are in the best hands, Beresford!
