Exactly Nobby. Can't be too many boxed examples of them around.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Well it arrived safely and the condition is just as the photos show.

I've stripped the reel down as someone had packed grease into it rather than oil.
Cleaned and oiled it now spins very freely.

Well the fourth! 2nd 3 1/2" has arrived.
Couldn't resist as It had a box, in poor condition admittedly. And the leaflet which would of accompanied the reels originally.
The back of the leaflet features testamonials dated 1948 and 1949. So I would guess this date would be fairly close as far as dating the reels goes?

You are now the World authority on Duracast centrepins Lucky!

Nice to see the paperwork, I wish I could put a date to my version:

Not quite Nobby, but I'm working on it!

Including yours that's 4 variations of central pin connection. Thread and nut, 2x screw fixing and your push button true pin.

Interesting that the paperwork details three different spool capacities to go with the two sizes.
Quite a few variations in a budget reel.

Cheers, that is a very different line guard!
That link has allowed me to put together the clues in the leaflet and the light print on the bottom of the box label. X/CAP - Extra capacity. ST/CAP -Standard.
Simple when you see it.
