Brass Nameplate Question

Post by Stingray »

You know those brass nameplates which were on most of the early Intrepids - well, have any of you ever tried using brasso on them ? I'm a little bit worried that I might damage the print. I have some silvo wadding which I think may be a touch more gentle than liquid brasso.

Any metal cleaner will probably take the print off , being abrasive. I also seem to remember that the plates themselves may be printed brass colour.

Ah, thanks. Best take a more cautious approach methinks.
