Romsey, Redditch, what's next?

Post by DickBrowne »

Sadly I missed Romsey as I was on holiday. This weekend is my wedding anniversary, so I'll likely miss Redditch also...

My question is, what's next? Will I have to wait for the next Romsey fair to see vintage tackle assembled en masse?

:(

As far as I know there are no other Vintage tackle shows like the ones from Romsey or Redditch, certainly not in my area.
I did talk about trying to run one with a mate a couple of years ago but there is a bit more to it than just having tables in a hall somewhere.
We are dragging down some more people with us this weekend, one is traveling down from Yorkshire (Ray Moss) who will be on our table along with Nobby and Well known Mitchell Collector Mike Read, hoping for a good day cos the laugh in the hotel will be good. :Thumb:

Hello There.
I think the second Romsey Tackle Fair is on the 2nd October 2016. I looked online and saw it somewhere. Check this link . http://www.thelastcast.co.uk/

every 3 months is a sporting goods auction at netherhampton auction rooms near salisbury, a lot of stuff is bought there and sold on at romsey and redditch with a 200% mark up, well worth looking on their web site

OK, please forgive me everyone - I'm being a total drama queen. I hadn't queried Rev Mrs. Dick about this weekend in anything other than very general terms... Our anniversary is actually on Monday, but I'd assumed that we would be doing stuff on Sunday as she is at college on Monday.

Guess what? She's cool with me disappearing for the morning to get all nerdy over fishing tackle! I can see why this marriage has lasted 24 years :)

So, I guess I'll see you all on Sunday!

See you Sunday Richard.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

... maybe you'll find a bouquet of floats or diamanond rod ring for your Mrs. Dick :Chuckle:
And I'm sure you'll find something for you as well. I always have the best success when my wife tells me to go fishing. My first catfish on traditional tackle a week ago, last year a 2,5 lb brown trout, ...
