Punt on a Merlin

Post by Mushy »

After so many posts from delighted owners of a Merlin I have been on the look out so when one pops up for a BIN of £25 I could resist no longer !!

Fingers crossed, it may go naked in the future, watch this space !

My fingers twitched over that one Mushy.

Very tempted, probably would have pushed the button if it had been at the start of the month!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Thanks Gents yes a Mordex Merlin, most seem to be listed much higher indeed one went to £44 and didn't make the reserve, they do seem to fetch quite high prices not sure why guess I'll find out !

Well she arrived yesterday and I'm rather pleased. Tough looking reel, good diameter and width, do well for some Barbelling.

One issue though, the lever thing that allows the spool to release doesn't seem to be sprung in the closed position, is this normal or has something broken inside?

Appreciate any advice.
