Wow its a Hardy The Fly Reel a fairly scarce reel made in the early 1950's. The one for New Zealand was called the Monogram combining the HB.

The British one is your one sold in two sizes 3 1/4 and 3 1/2.

Scarce but not fantastically expensive.

Thanks for that info Stefan. One question. My reel is clearly marked 3 3/8", not one of the sizes you list. Also I have seen pictures of two similar reels but both were polished finish. Would the finish have been optional?

Hi thats the original finish, bright drum with dark frame. The reels were never catalogued so there could have been more sizes made.
