I have a pair of MK II Exaltas, one of which works fine (right hand reel in the picture) and the other which is giving me a lot of trouble (the rascal on the left).
On the troublesome reel the shaft appears loose or to have too much movement, resulting in the spool moving too far forward at times and the line being wound around the back of the spool. If I grip the shaft at point A it will move back and forwards maybe a quarter of an inch which doesn't happen on the reel that's working properly.
My question is what and how do I adjust this to get rid of the excess movement, if indeed that's what I need to do?
All suggestions gratefully received
Pete

Pete, I am not sure but there may be a problem with the ball bearing that takes the axial thrust. You could check if it is still in place. Good luck, Bobby
